Multiple Job Postings- More the Merrier?
It’s the age-old question that always gets tossed around, is it quantity or quality that matters? In the case of Online Job Postings, is more always merrier?
Professionalism
Even in the online world, there is professionalism to be had. Overindulgently reposting your ad looks like a) spam and b) desperate for employees (with not enough reason for employees to be interested in the offered position). With hundreds and hundreds of jobs being posted, you may wonder how yours will get the attention it deserves. It’s simple really- be smart and be in neither extremes.
It’s okay to repost your ad weekly or bi-weekly, especially to take advantage of those rare but free online job boards. But don’t forget to also branch out, use numerous job boards- from famous ones that trail across the nation to job boards that localize to your town or job field. And then, begin your own statistic. In the e-mail account made specifically for employment, create files for the different online job boards used. On the job post, ask the interested applicants to write the name of the website (in which they found your ad), on the subject line.
Once you’ve accumulated enough applicants, you’ll be able to detect a pattern to which website proves effective in recruiting well-qualified candidates. So the next time you need employees, you already know what websites work in attracting candidates. By organizing and capturing information, not only do you hold a list of interested applicants for later use, you are building a human-resource department right in your e-mail account!
Always remember that it is courteous to send a declination e-mail if the applicant does not fit the position or the position has already been filled. In either case, this shows professionalism within the company and shows the applicant that they are respected as people. This is also a good habit for future reference, in the case you may want to hire them into your company.
